I first saw these at the Axman Surplus store in St. Paul - a great place to search for the unusual! These were originally designed to put out cigarettes, but they conveniently fit over the ends of Hermes’ Web. They can represent the ego – atop the barrier, or what dwells ominously in the core – under the barrier. Just use your imagination or let your client pick what fits for them – their own estimation of what inhabits their core – one or many! These little doodads allow you to discuss possible issues either above or below the barrier and the relationship between those too often separated or segregated worlds. It’s really a bit of a Rorschach in that you can project all manner of things on these creatures and objects. Use one at a time, several at a time, above, below, or both, as is apropos. Toys to represent what tends to make a person a butthead!
