Call For Submissions: July 2004 Connections
Female practitioners face numerous challenges in communicating
with well-defended males. Many basic physiological and
sociological differences, as well as conflicting learning and
communication styles, inhibit the effectiveness of therapy,
education, and treatment. Men and women communicate differently,
learn differently, and internalize trauma differently. Therefore,
treatment and education that focus exclusively on “talk” therapy may
not be enough.

The number of women in helping professions is beginning to
outweigh men, making it essential for women to learn about and
understand these fundamental differences. The challenge for
female therapists, educators, and human service professionals
then, is to find an effective means of helping male clients and
students to recover by honoring the differences. Hermes’ Web helps
them do just that.

To contribute to the July issue of Connections, please email your
questions and/or your experience using Hermes’ Web as an
effective recovery tool that honors male communication and learning
styles to connections@hermesweb.com. You may also submit
questions outside of this topic to be included in the issue. Your
Community members look forward to your input.
